My Desert Essence haul

Hello sweet ladies!
For a year or so now,I've been looking for a whole range of hair care products without any silicons in them.
I dare say that this is a hard and tricky quest since some brands do make silicon free products, but unfortunately, most of the time, there are only a few products in the range that are silicon free.

Last week, a virtual friend of mine -Machoney from Shanell Beauty- posted about Desert Essence and I immediately decided to order at iHerb. I was so glad to see their coconut line with silicon free products only, all the more so that they have a leave-in cream for curly hair like mine...
I picked all the products and I'm starting the whole routine with them this weekend.
I'll make a full review on them, hoping I won't be disappointed and that they'll be nourishing enough for my dry, curly hair.

Dare to wear... Red eyeshadow!

Hello sweet ladies, I hope your weekend is going on pretty good.

Today I want to share with you some swatches of my favorite red eyeshadows.
I love wearing red/rust eyeshadows, I think they are gorgeous and a bit unconventional...

I like using my MAC Fix + to foil loose eyeshadows, I just wet my flat stiff brush with it and it makes the colors pop like crazy...
To enhance my pressed red eyeshadows, I like using NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk or in rust, plus I never forget to use my primer potion as a base.

From left to right: without base, with NYX jumbo eye pencil in milk underneath, with NYW jumbo eye pencil in rust as a base.

What about you girls, do you wear red eyeshadows? What are your favorite shades? Do you have any tips to make them pop even more?

The Body Shop Mango body scrub

Hello sweet ladies! Today I'd like to make a review on the Mango Body Scrub by the Body Shop.

Though I always use my moroccan black soap and my Bourjois Gommage de Rêve because they are my favorite scrubs ever, I like testing new products. So, a few months ago I purchased this yummy scrub.
What is it?
They describe it as follows: "Have soft, glowing skin with this oil-based, soft-textured scrub that is packed with exfoliating salt grains and organic sugar.
Mango seed oil moisturizes and softens skin without being greasy.
Community Trade organic cane sugar and salt grains gently exfoliate skin.
Community Trade organic soy oil, rich in essential fatty acids, helps repair skin’s moisture barrier for smooth, supple skin."
This scrub is made for very dry skins.

 How much for this?
$ 19.00 for 7.4 oz. Just the average size for body products.

What do I think about it?

- I'm crazy about its anthentic mango fragrance. It just smells awesome and lasts long after the shower.
- It is a good scrub without being agressive for my skin and leaves it soft and moisturized.
- On a weekly use basis, is takes time to hit the pan.

 - It is oil-based and leaves my skin oily and slippery after the shower, it's pretty disagreeable. This is the big downside of this product, and because of that I won't buy it again.

To put it in a nutshell :
I bought this scrub because it smells so good and because body scrubs tend to leave my skin dry. This one does moisturize but the greasy feeling on my skin after use makes that I won't recommend this product.

Marc Jacobs' Dot

This summer, Marc Jacobs launched a brand new perfume: DOT.
I'm definitely fond of this fragrance!!!! It's a summery one with fruity  and fresh notes.
Once on my skin, it turns out to be a bit powdery as well which I really enjoy.

And I'm not telling you about the ladybug inspired bottle... so cute... I love the butterflies on it as well...
Altogether, I just LOOOOOOOOOOVE this new perfume.
 Here is the official description:
" Chic and charming,
a lush floral bouquet
of beautiful jasmine and
juicy red berries."

 Description by Harvey Nichols:
"This light and juicy fragrance has top notes of red berries, dragonfruit and sweet honeysuckle. A lush floral heart blooms with jasmine energised by notes of coconut water and orange blossom. Lingering notes of creamy vanilla, driftwood and sensual musk round off this charming and sophisticated scent."

My last haul...

Hello sweet ladies, hope you're doing pretty good this weekend. My last haul was actually in May, and, believe it or not, I didn't even unpack my new items... I was definitely not into the mood for focusing on makeup.
I ordered a Sugarpill palette and the Royal Sugar pigment for one of my friends who really liked these colors on me, so I picked two loose eyeshadows for me ... The asylum one: I'm crazy about red eyeshadows and I really wanted this one, and the Lumi shade, a kind of white duochrome color...

I also purchased three Sleek palettes, and I was very lucky and happy to find the limited edition Circus palette!!! It was launched in 2010 and I waited too much to buy it, it was out of stock...
I also chose the limited edition Curaçao palette from last summer, plus the Au Naturel palette.
 Love them all!!!
I think I should swatch all my Sleek palettes for you girls... Tell me if you'd like to see that.

MAC Marilyn Monroe - Fall 2012

Products pictures

Hello sweet ladies! I'm very excited about the subject of this post because I really like this glamorous, feminine icon, Marilyn Monroe. The last collection from MAC that I was so enthusiatic about was Disney's Venomous Villains in 2010...

I was definitely impatient to see the packaging for this collection, guessing they would make something special for it. I must say I like it but a I'm a bit disappointed though... I actually expected a more glamorous/joyful portrait of Marilyn on the products.
I'm planning on picking a lipstick or two, one eyeshadow and maybe a blush...

Here are the pics for this collection.

Are you excited by this collection dedicated to Marilyn Monroe? Why? Why not?
What are the items you'd like to get ?
In your opinion, which ones are not worth splurging ?
